Objectives

As part of its mandate, the EURL-PH-HP will have the following main specific objectives:

• Provision of reference diagnostics, characterization services and test protocols to network laboratories
• Provision of reference material to network laboratories (production, maintenance and delivery)
• Provision of External Quality Assessment schemes (EQA) by means of Proficiency Testing schemes (ISO 17043)
• Collaborative research on epidemiology and diagnostic tools
• Provision of scientific advice and technical support to network laboratories
• Scientific advice to ECDC, EU and other supra-national organizations based on expert opinion and/or network survey
• On demand, provision of information, guidance and/or support to ECDC in outbreak responses, including ECDC risk assessment
• Organization and delivery of trainings
• Organisation of annual meetings for laboratory members of the disease networks
• Communication and dissemination
