2017, 49 p.

This report focuses on the importance of the walking tests in Biomedicine. Firstly, it presents a review on the most used walking tests, indicating for each one the equations for calculating the maximum consumption of oxygen and also presents a critical analysis of the indexes most widely used for assessing the metabolic consumption, for the assessment of the physical activity. Secondly it explains the new methods developed for the step counting and for the monitoring of the walking tests. Thirdly it faces three new fields: the applications in the smartphone; the impact of the animal assisted therapy; the development of new innovative prosthesis for the fashion rehabilitation therapy.
Key words: Walking Test; Motion analysis; Metabolic consumption
