3th National Congress. Mycotoxins in agri-food chain. Istituto Superiore di Sanità. Rome, September 28-30, 2009. Proceedings.
Edited by di Carlo Brera, Emanuela Gregori, Barbara De Santis and Marina Miraglia
2010, v, 251 p. (in Italian)

The Congress is aimed at focusing on the main aspects related to the different outputs derived from sanitary, agronomic, industrial and diagnostic implication regarding mycotoxin contamination in agri-food chain products and from the existing research projects promoted at national and transnational level. Therefore, this event is addressed to all the researcher and stakeholders of the food and feed chain, with the auspices that, through their own experiences and contributions, exhaustive information on operating and managerial activities to be implemented to control as much as possible mycotoxin contamination in food and feed products is achieved. This approach would contribute to limit the sanitary impact of these xenobiotics on human and animal health and the negative consequences for the food and feed system. Finally, the topics addressed at this Congress can help the dissemination of scientific information related to safeguarding the Italian consumer to the exposure of such toxic substances, the individuation of emerging needs to be included in the ongoing research projects and to achieve better competitiveness in the European and international markets.
