These are the main data provided by the Control Room:

There was a nationwide increase in the weekly incidence of cases: 504 per 100.000 inhabitants (07/10/2022 -13/10/2022) vs. 441 per 100.000 inhabitants (30/09/2022 -06/10/2022)

In the period 21 September – 04 October 2022, the average Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was 1.30 (range 1,15-1,38), an increase compared to the previous week and above the threshold value. The transmissibility index based on hospitalized cases dropped slightly but was still above the epidemic threshold: Rt = 1.20 (1.17-1.24) as at 04/10/2022 vs. Rt = 1.28 (1.23-1.32) as at 27/09/2022.

The number of occupied beds in Intensive Care Units rose to 2,4% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as at 13 October) from 1,8% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as at 06 October). The number of occupied beds in other medical wards at national level rose to 10.0% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as at 13 October) from 8.2% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health as at 06 October).

Eight Regions/PPAAs were classified as being at high risk, of which seven for the presence of multiple resilience alerts, in pursuance of the MD of 30 April 2020; twelve were classified as being at moderate risk, and only one was classified as being at low risk. Eighteen Regions/PPAAs reported at least one resilience alert. Eight Regions/PPAAs reported multiple resilience alerts.

The percentage of cases detected through contact tracing remained stable compared to the previous week (11% vs. 12%). Also the percentage of cases detected through the onset of symptoms remained virtually stable (54% vs. 53%), as did the percentage of cases diagnosed through screening activities (35% vs. 35%).
