Back Hazardous chemicals: replace animal testing with computational models
A new tool has been adopted at the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) to evaluate the scientific validity of computational models and predictions. The QSAR Assessment Framework was developed within a project promoted by OECD and co-coordinated by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità and the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), with the support of about 40 experts from a large representation of member countries and international agencies.
This new tool provides regulators with a harmonized and transparent approach to evaluating models and predictions in regulatory contexts and helps increase confidence in the acceptance of non-animal testing methods for assessing chemical hazards.
Don't miss the presentation of the new OECD QSAR Assessment Framework on November 9th 2023 !
