Activity

The LNR-AO:

•  collaborates with the corresponding European Reference Laboratory (EURL-AO, Freiburg, Germany) by participating in training courses, workshops and interlaboratory comparative tests (EURL PT) organized by them, ensuring the transmission of the information received to the competent authorities and Official Laboratories Italian involved in official food controls (IT-OLs)
• collaborates with the IT-OLs by providing interpretations and opinions regarding compliance with the maximum residue limits, applicability of any process factors, interpretation of current legislation
• organizes comparative interlaboratory tests (PT) in favor of the IT-OLs with the possible participation of European laboratories
• offers, within its competence, technical / scientific assistance to the competent authorities for the implementation of national and European food control plans
• annually organizes in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MdS) a national conference on the activities of the public administration in the field of control of plant protection products and pesticide residues in food and a workshop between LNR and IT-OLs always with the participation of representatives of the MdS
