National Reference Laboratory for Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)

Events

The GMO NRL organises and/or carries out training and dissemination activities on GMOs in favour of bodies operating in the National Health Service, schools , European Researchers' Night, European Biotech Week, Universities (seminars) and, on behalf of the European Commission, in favour of Third Countries and EU candidate countries (TAIEX).

Starting from 2009, the Reference Centre for GMOs (CROGM) organises, on a yearly basis, workshops addressed only to the personnel belonging to the NILO network (ITALIAN NETWORK OF GMO LABORATORIES) involved in the analytical control of GMOs and in the local management of data related to the official control of GMOs  in order to acquire knowledge and updates on the following topics reference legislation for the regulation of biotechnological products for agro-food use; Community policies on biotechnologies applied to the agro-food sector; coordination of analytical activities for the official control of GMOs in food and feed; use of analytical techniques for the analytical control of GMOs under accreditation; research activities in the field of genetic improvement of plant species of agronomic interest; agenda of the European Network of GMO Laboratories (ENGL) and the European Reference Laboratory for Genetically Modified Food and Feed (EURLGMFF).
 
The ISS GMO NRL actively collaborates in the drafting of the programme.
