The correct use of digital and telecommunications technologies makes new health treatments possible, both through remote services and digital therapies, and with the integration of large amounts of data that allow to personalize health treatment (precision medicine).
It is of fundamental importance, therefore, that the use of these technologies is verified through clinical trials with a rigorous scientific method.
The Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS, the National Institute of Health in Italy), with many experts in telemedicine, designs, promotes, participates, coordinates and conducts clinical research in telemedicine and in the field of new information technologies, as well as in the clinical applications of robotic products and in digital therapies.
