The Centre's mission is to promote care approaches that prioritise accessibility and equity, ensuring the rational utilisation of available resources and facilitating the adoption of integrated models based on quality-quantitative reference standards. The activities are designed to disseminate management tools that promote appropriateness and effectiveness in health services, in addition to professional training for the provision of evidence-based care. The Centre is responsible for the promotion of the production of guidelines, good practices and other guidance tools for healthcare workers, with the guarantee of methodological quality. In order to facilitate continuous improvement in the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of care, the Centre carries out inspections to verify organisational and clinical-assistance practices in the country's healthcare facilities.
